The plate is decorated in late Ming Kraak “fuyo-de” style with a pattern of alternating panels of flowers, Chrysanthemums and Camellias, with Precious objects, interspersed with pendant Lozenge motifs. The central mikomi framed by a narrow atypical floral band depicts an oversized figure holding a rod standing upon a bridge with two oxen set in a classic Chinese “sansui” landscape’. SOLD 

A dish in the form of an auspicious Manchurian Red Crowned Crane decorated in green, black and iron red enamels with gilding. Dating Kyoho in period circa 1710-30. The dish measures approximately 17cm in wingspan and approximately 13 cm from tail to head. It is in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration some very minor wear to the enamels and kiln flaws. Shipping at Cost

An Arita nagazara, long dish, of ovoid pointed form decorated with a central mikomi containing a pair of Dragons chasing each other amongst auspicious reishi form clouds. Each beneficent young dragon is depicted with bifurcated tails and clawless feet. They belong to a class of dragon known in China as Chilongs, which were particularly associated with longevity and good health and are often shown in Chinese art with a lingzhi, reishi, the life giving fungus of the Immortals in their mouths. A good example of a late 17th century Arita round bodied jug or wine ewer decorated with three lobed panels each with Peonies inset in a simplified Karakusa ground with additional scroll work to the shoulder and neck of the jug incorporating further floral motifs. The jug measures 21cm high and is approximately 10.5cm in diameter. It is in excellent condition with no cracks chips or restoration. A Chelsea-Derby dish copying a version of the Ko Imari Kuri-zu Shuronogata dish see EW 2608, decorated in a combination of underglaze cobalt blue and additional enamels. The dishes have a ground foot-ring which is characteristic of the output of the Chelsea factory. The dish is in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration, some light stacking wear to the enamels and gilding to the rim. A good sized bowl and cover decorated with a striking pattern of stylised Bamboo leaves with spirals and zigzag motifs. The bowl and cover are of conventional form. The handle has the form of a tied bundle of noshi, dried abalone strips, which are usually associated with the act of giving and ceremonial use, so this may possibly be a presentation piece.
