Rare Chinese Spoon and Teapot Trays Yongzheng c.1730

A elliptical spoon tray and matching teapot stand or tray of square canted form . The dishes decorated with all over moulding of lotus arabesques and under-glaze blue diaper banding. The centres decorated in encre de chine with an eremitic theme of the scholar withdrawing from the hurly burly of conventional life for a simple scholars retreat. The manner in which the design is partially wrapped around the central motif is somewhat unusual . The spoon tray measures 15.5cm in length and is 8cm wide, and the teapot stand measures 16.5cm diagonally from corner to corner and is 13cm wide. Both show characteristic fritting and related chipping to their edges typical of Chinese porcelain of this period circa 1720-40. Shipping at Cost. 130 -$210
