A straight sided soba choku, inoguchi, hog mouthed beaker, probably originating from the Hasami kilns in the Saga fief, decorated with what appears to be a branch of a Peach tree displaying three Peaches, momo, symbols of longevity inset in a window within a pattern of sarasa, bamboo leaves, and crossed bamboo canes. The inner rim decorated with a diaper border, and a stamped gobenka within a double ring. The bulls eye base, janomi, shows evidence of some sort of dark grey slip applied to the unglazed base to prevent the beaker from sticking to the sager. The beaker dates to the late Eighteenth century. It measures 8.2cm in diameter and stands 6.4cm high. It is in good condition with no cracks, chips or restoration. Shipping at Cost
