| A large Chinese export Kangxi-era plate in underglaze blue of peony blossoms amidst leafy scrolls, painted in a fluid style with shading dark to light. Two fronds of bamboo on reverse, and the rim dressed with a brown wash typical of early to mid-18th century export ware. Small "pig bristle" pin-holes to the glaze on the base inside the foot rim. Beautiful condition with no chips, cracks or repairs, just one small (3 mm) glaze flake to the back of the rim as shown, with a few very tiny fleabites to the edge. This piece rings clearly and long when tapped. Diameter is 27 cm, (approximately 10.5 inches). Shipping at cost. | ||
