Late 17th century Ai-Kutani shallow bowl, decorated with painterly underglaze cobalt blue bird on a rock amidst foliage, the wall decorated with irises, chrysanthemums and foliage. About 8.25" (21cm) x 1.25" (3cm). Excellent, original condition with no chips, frits, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Fine glaze crackle throughout typical of the period.
