| Rare signed and numbered Cecil Aldin hunting framed Color Offset Lithograph on Paper inscribed "Cecil Aldin" in pencil l.l. identified in the matrix From the 30's. It is signed in PENCIL lower left Cecil Aldin and printed signature in his original artwork. It is also numbered in PENCIL No. 84 making this the 84th copy of a limited edition. Cecil Aldin (1870-1935) Original works of art, which include watercolor paintings and pencil, ink, or pastel drawings, are at the top of the price list of Aldin collectibles. Due to limited quantity and the uniqueness of each piece, original watercolors and drawings cost thousands of dollars and should be purchased from a reputable source, as it can be difficult for the beginning collector's eye to distinguish between an original watercolor or drawing, an antique print, and a modern print. Limited edition prints signed and numbered by Cecil Aldin himself follow original works of art in the pricing structure. The rarity of these original limited edition prints will only increase, as the metal printing plates originally used to produce these prints were destroyed in World War II. Accordingly, no new editions of Aldin's prints pulled from these original plates can ever be issued. It is in its original wood frame in a festive red and untouched with original nails in back. I believe it was from the Cheshire Hunt Series Titled AWAY FROM BATHWOOD- that is in pencil written on paper backing. Also a gold foil label which left of it reads Park Square Boston. Frame size is 18" by 12", sight size is 12" by 6" and the remainder is original matting and border containing his signature an numbering.
