Rare McClelland Barclay sterling HUMMINGBIRD necklace. What a beauty! Made circa 1930-1940's before McClelland was killed during WWII. One of his rare sterling organic designs, this one is of a hummingbird searching for nectar on a lilly or iris blossum. Handmade chain with handmade oblong ribbed links, and a floral clasp. Closed length measures about 16 inches long. The center medallions are about 6 x 1 1/2 inches at the widest. Marked Sterling, Silver, McClelland Barclay. Rivals the best of Georg Jensen. |
