Exquisite Austrian Vienna Bronze circa 1900 of a Magpie, he's just landed on a very handsome marble dish, very fine detail in superb condition, small amount of wear to polychrome finish, mounted on brown marble, this is a trinket dish rather than an ashtray which would have a lip to rest the cigarette on, still retains original retailers label reads:
Jamieson & Sons GOLDSMITHS. ABERDEEN (with royal crest as supplied to Royalty). Measures 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" x 2" a wonderful addition to the best of Vienna Bronze collections.

Rare Antique Austrian cold painted Pekingese dog on Marble Trinket Dish (Not Ashtray)light handling wear to polychrome finish as appropriate for age, other than that this figure is totally original and perfect with wonderful miniature casting detail. I would think this was an item to be placed on a desk to hold paper clips or similar as there is a shallow oval dish to the front of the little dog.
The shape of the marble is irregular and measures approx. 8cm or 3 inches by 7cm or 2 3/4 inches while the tiny dog is just 2cm or under 1 inch high.
He is pegged to the base and may be swivelled slightly. This breed of dog is very rare and difficult to obtain, worthy of the best of collections.
