Rare Speltor cast, circa 1850-1880 after the French Animalier Sculptor P.J. Mene, very fine detail showing a dog and bitch playing with a tortoise. Constructed in cast spelter that has been bronzed over to give the effect of Bronze. The casting is of very fine quality, they stand 9.5cm high and are 16cm long. There is a small dent in one tail which gives it a slight kink otherwise Superb.

This exquisite little bird is very finely detailed with a little wear to the polychrome finish, suitable for age, he stands very well, I would say good condition, far better detailed than my photographs can show. Measures 2" x 2" Belived to be a Bergman. Not signed, No Cracks, breaks or restoration.

Signed to base "Percy" Mounted on a wooden base. Measures 3 3/4" x 1 1/2" x 1 3/4" in Very good condition with deep brown bronze patina, genuine lost wax cast.
