Here's a real treat to find, a rare Meiji Period (1868 - 1912) Bronze standing turtle, he stands against a wall or preferable a mirror with his head turned round over his shoulder looking straight at you, he brings a smile to everyone's faces. Meiji Japanese kutani sleeping cat measures 2 3/4" long, 1 1/8" tall, and 1 1/4" wide. He is in very good condition except for a small firing mark on his ear and back. There are no markings on bottom. He is an exceptional cat and would make a splendid gift for the cat lover or collector of kutani or satsuma cats.Meiji Period 1868 - 1912
