This is a fine circa 1910 East Indian elephant ivory figure of an Indian monkey trainer in traditional dress with a monkey on his shoulder and one at his feet. This carving is from one solid piece of elephant tusk. It is mounted on a wooden base-likely zebra wood though I am not certain of this. Great early 20th century East Indian elephant ivory carving. Small size, stands 1 7/8 inch tall not including attached wooden plinth. Good condition. Normal yellowing. Quite attractive.
