Tomikichiro Tokuriki (1902-1999)is best known for his shin hanga woodblocks. This image of the "Rainy Scene at the Sen-ke" (House of the founder of tea ceremony) is from the month series "Twelve Months of Kyoto" (Kyô-meishô jûnikagetsu), published 1945 by Uchida in Kyoto. A wonderful 19-20th century Chinese tea set or wine set consisting of a teapot, 4 matching cups and a tray. Very nicely painted dragon and phoenix facing off with the flaming pearl of wisdom between them. Same motif on the little handless cups and the gently lobed tray.
