Guangxu period pebble form snuff bottle so realistic that the Peking glass can be mistaken for a pebble. This is a nice old one with silky smooth surface from years of handling. Bottle is well hollowed, and in fact may have held opium at one time as the black residue in the neck suggests. Brownish color is not damage, color in the glass and some from inner residue. Good sized triangular bottom makes for stable standing. Nice cat's eye stopper with a bone spoon.
2.3" high with stopper. Very good condition with no chips or hairlines or repairs. Nice clean straight stopper & stone of later date and very well done. Genuine 19th century. |
