Pair Tall Japanese Meiji Satsuma Vases
An elegant pair of slender satsuma vases with beautifully delineated and executed designs. The overall theme is the profuse hundred petal cherry blossoms of spring with plump Japanese bluebirds fluttering. These spring scenes are on the main body of the vase and two panels of the long neck. Separating them are narrow brocade and diaper bands highlighted by jewel effect enamel accents. The inner flaring rim is also decorated by gold scrolls with jewels"". There is no mark on the base. Meiji satsuma of about 90-120 years old.

11.2" high and 4.5" diameter widest. Very good condition with no chips or repairs. What may appear to be dark smudges are clouds of gold dust.

This is an exceptional pair of antique satsuma with very desirable form. Be hard to find another pair. Keywords: satsuma pottery meiji porcelain china."
