A 17th century Kangxi period blue and white ladies figural bowl, underglazed symbolic mark, likely from the imperial contract kilns. A lovely waterside scene of ladies in flowing robes, going around to a rock garden framed by willow branches. A center medallion of the "3 friends of winter: pine, plum and bamboo". More good luck symbols all around. Excellent Kangxi hard glaze over white biscuit, teeny hint of blue.
7.8" diameter and standing about 3.3" high. Fine condition, no chips or hairlines. 3-4 light short surface scratches, no lines. Mouth rim smooth. Beautiful ring. This size of bowl is often used for drinking wine, in "ocean" serving portions.
