A fine "imperial hall marked" (Jurentang) turquoise ground floral medallion covered tea or "small treat" bowl from the Early Republic of China period from 1912 to 1920s. The very good Ju Ren Tang mark is said to be the hall mark for the self styled Emperor Hongxian who sat on the throne for 81 days in the winter of 1911-1912. Most of these were made directly after his reign. Quality of the porcelain is usually very high, as is this one. 3 1/2 inches high and 4 across. Very good condition.
See my other porcelain from this period also listed here. |
