清白玉美人 手握扇子躺在叶上 早期. Antique Qing white jade toggle of lady with a fan (or recumbent courtesan as Watts calls her) on a leaf. She has the tiny bound feet of the era. This is a nice old white jade with very even texture and a tiny hint of celadon. Cf. Watts 'Chinese Jades from Han to Ching' p.125 where the face and general carving details are very similar to this listing. Watts dates it as late Ming to early Qing. (email me for a picture from the Watts book).
About 7.5cm. Very good condition with tone of long time handling. |
