The rim is ground flat and polished with a carved indent for cigarettes or cigars. It is an organic oval shape and the color combination - bright purplish pink inside, yellow outside - remind one of a grapefruit half. This bowl is very substancial and heavy for it's size. The maker is most probably Seguso, though the bowl is unmarked. The base shows wear consistent with it's mid-century age. There are a few very small fleabites on the inner rim and edge of the indent (which are very common in pieces with ground rims) as well as a tiny black ash speck on the surface of the interior. These condition issues are mentioned for accuracy only as they, in no way, detract from the gorgeous display value of this work of art. Dimensions: 6.5" (16.5cm) wide, 2.25" (6cm) tall |
