$850.00

About 6” in height, this Precolumbian figural stirrup jar (TF99.57) is attributed to the Moche horizon of Peru, c.100-800AD. In overall very good condition, there is some chipping around the mouth of the narrow spout, and there’s a small, spider-web ‘push’ on the back of the jar that appears to have resulted from a probe that penetrated the left side just below the figure (two small holes, one on the front upper left corner of the throne, and the other just around to the side, have been repaired ...click for details

$1200.00

From the estate of Brian Safe, this 11 ¼” tall red-on-buff stirrup jar (PES40) is attributed to the Moche horizon of Peru, c.100-800AD. The geometric design around the lower half of the jar is faithfully reproduced six times, but the Moche artist had to cheat a little to fill in the small space remaining when he (or she) placed the seventh...a third-sized final rendition of the same pattern! Almost hidden on the top of the vessel, below the stirrup handle, is the painted image of a multi-legged ...click for details

From the estate of the late Lynn Langdon, he acquired this spectacular burnished red-ware olla (LLL483) in the mid-20th century in West Mexico. The olla, about 15” across from nose-tip to nose-tip, is attributed to the Colima horizon dating into the Pre-Classic period c.300BC-300AD. Protruding equidistantly apart along the shoulder break are eight powerfully expressed, almost identical helmeted heads. Due to apparent heavy surface restoration and repainting, and evidence of some repair through X ...click for details

Found in west Mexico in the mid-20th century by the late Lynn Langdon, this two ‘dogs for the price of one’ terracotta censer (LLL425) is attributed to the Pre-Classic Colima horizon dating c.300BC-200AD. Broken across the front of the body and glued, there’s been a moderate amount of restoration on the censer’s left side, and three of the lower critter’s legs have been restored.
