Measuring 8mm x 7mm x 1.5mm, this translucent carnelian ring seal (101.8ABHD) was found in northern Afghanistan during the Russian occupation and is attributed to the Indo-Greeks, c.300BC-100AD. In overall very good condition with minor edge damage, the gracefully carved intaglio Greek-styled male head can best be seen with magnification or impression in clay.
