The gold tube beads and quartz crystal beads in this 22” necklace (97.190HD) are all attributed to the Calima horizon in the El Bolo River of Colombia and date c.100BC-400AD. Possibly originally found together as a group, but no way of being positive. The gold beads, made from hammered, fairly heavy sheet gold and ‘capped’ at the ends by folding, are all in very good to excellent condition and measure up to 5/8” in length. Small contemporary metal beads were used inside the hollow gold tube bead ...click for details

From the Gunnulf Bjorkman collection, it comes in a deep 14” x 20” glass-fronted frame along with a biog ...click for details

Small and rare, this miniature prehistoric Indian bowl (GLC489) is from the collection of the late Gene Lang of Denver. With small mouth opening, large flanged lip, and suspension holes, Lang felt that this may have been used as an ‘ink’ or pigment jar. He typed it as a Tibera Black-on-White dating c.1440-1675AD into the Proto-Historic period. Intact with absolutely no repairs or repaint, this fascinating 1 ¾” tall jar comes with a small display card, an acrylic ring upon which to set it, a rele ...click for details

This rare Pre-Columbian stone rasp (MAS1) may indeed be unique! Acquired in the state of Nayarit, West Mexico, in the late 1950s, the 8 3/8” pecked and partially polished dark greenish black argillite rasp/pendant is related to the shaft tomb cultures of that area dating c.300BC-200AD. Many of the ceramic figurines found on the West Coast have been portrayed holding various types of simply designed rasps. This rasp has a three-dimensional head at the top of its grooved and pointed body with two ...click for details
