THE HEIRS OF THE BILLY BRANCH COLLECTION ARE NOW INVITING OFFERS!!!

With the imminent distribution of proceeds from the sales of items in the Billy Branch estate, the heirs
are inviting offers. Though already heavily discounted, the family has asked that I note its willingness to
consider any offer for a listed item in the Branch collection: Pre-Columbian art pottery; unique Native American
pawn pieces; Chinese zoomorphic cloisonnee forms; and a variety of other special collectibles. Bill had a good
eye, and this opportunity to purchase a fine piece at your price is seldom seen. To see all items in the Branch
collection, simply type the letters 'BB' into the search link on any page and all of Bill's listings will come up.

$425.00

From the collection of the late Lynn Langdon who found this figurine (LLL125) in west Mexico in the mid-20th century, this figure is attributed to the Colima period, c.500BC-200AD. The slightly bow-legged image has been glued together and represents a powerful male wearing necklace, armbands, a head sash, and a kilt-like loin covering. The figure, which will not stand on its own, can be easily displayed in an upright position with a simple wire stand. This piece comes with a small display card, ...click for details

$150.00

This small bi-colored figurine (CH1024), sometimes called a ‘cochimilco’, is from the collection of the late Carrol Howe, well-known amateur archaeologist from Klamath Falls, Oregon, whose interests in ancient cultures ranged far beyond his beloved lands of the ancient Modoc and Klamath Indians. This crudely molded and rather primitively painted 3” tall figure is attributed to the Chancay horizon of Peru, c.1100-1400AD. In excellent condition without restoration of any type, the little guy, bede ...click for details

SORRY...ALL OF THESE ITEMS HAVE SOLD.

Here are twelve more individually priced Pre-Columbian stone figural pendants, known as ‘penates’ for their prayer-like pose, taken from a frame assembled by the late Chester Howard. Howard, founder of the Colorado Mineralogical Society in 1936, collected the penates in Mexico in the mid-20th century. The pieces in this group (TEH.F51.2, 8, 10, 19, 23, 25, 29, 33, 37, 40, 43 and 49), worn for protective purpose in Pre-Columbian days, include one stylized owl pendant. $750.00

Stone bark beaters are rare enough and this one (RFM53), with faces incised on two raised square platforms, is probably unique! Grooved around three edges to strap a bent willow handle, the bottom working face of the 3” long x 1 ¾” wide x 1 ¾” deep tool, designed to pound bark and soften it for wear, as well as being used for book-making by the Aztecs, is grooved and atypically cross-hatched. Marked as being found in Mexico, specific provenance is unknown, but it is believed to date into the Cl ...click for details
