The intaglio figure on this 10mm x 12mm oval ring seal (100.57KHD) may represent the seated image of Zeus, but is more likely a depiction of a warrior or chief. In overall good and mountable condition, there are a couple of areas of minor rim damage that neither effect the image or nor limit the use of the gem to mount it in a modern setting. This pinkish brown chalcedony donut seal (100.43MHD) has the engraved intaglio image of a large bird on its signet platform. Found in western Afghanistan during the Russian occupation and attributed to the Sassanian Empire, c.300-600AD, the seal, perforated from side to side, is in excellent, somewhat worn condition.
