Battles Collection: Native American Textiles – Group E
The Indian textiles, along with one Indian style from Mexico, in this group of twelve (MLB 53-63) includes Navajo Regional Weavings, Saddle Blankets, Double Saddle Blankets, and Pictorial Yei, all from the Asa Battles collection. Ranging in price from $50 to $1800, the selection is varied, the colors bright, and the condition used but good. Each weaving is individually priced on its own photo group. In the descriptive text, the inventory number of each piece appears first in brackets, followed by a brief description, and a numerical grade between 1-10 based on condition (with 10 being the top). The provenance, estimated age, size, and some additional descriptive information is also included, and finally the price. Every piece comes with a small display card, a short biographical sketch about the artist Battles, and our certificate guaranteeing authenticity. Select or ask any question by referring either to the Trocadero ITEM # or the STOCK # at the top of this page, and ALSO to the specific item’s INVENTORY NUMBER (as shown in brackets on its photo). NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing time, try our popular ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box. That will quickly bring up all of our listings that have twelve different items on a page, each individually priced! And if you want to further refine the group, add one or two additional modifiers at the same time such as ‘Indian, Precolumbian, Stone, Pot, Gold, etc.’ Any item that has been sold in one of the groups of twelve will be so noted on its own photograph.
