BEAUTIFUL MATCHED SET OF GOLD EARRINGS, SINU
Made in Precolumbian days by the lost wax technique, this matched pair of high karat gold earrings (103.43HD) was found in the Gulf of Uruba area of Colombia and is attributed to the Sinu dating c.400-1600AD. In overall very good, wearable condition (with the physical attachment of posts for earring wear, or bales for use as striking pendants), and each measuring about 2 7/8” in width, one of the earrings has a small casting flaw along its outer crescent edge that significantly affects neither its strength nor its durability. A striking addition for the collector of ancient jewelry or the collector of Precolumbian gold, this earring set comes with a small display card, a map of Colombia highlighting both the Gulf of Uruba and the Sinu areas, and a certificate guaranteeing authenticity.
