| The twelve photos available through this page illustrate either individual or closely matched pairs of usually burnished and sometimes decorated ear spools (LLL732RN41B, LLL733G, LLL733H, LLL733L, LLL733R, LLL733S, LLL733AC, LLL733AD, LLL733AN, LLL757R1N1A, LLL927R and LLL928G), all found in west Mexico in the mid-20th century by the late Lynn Langdon. Few of the ear ornaments are in perfect condition, and most still have residues of mud adhering to them. Having been made from clay, and due to their fragile nature, it’s amazing that they survived as well as they did. Found in the deep shaft tomb areas of the Nayarit, Jalisco, and Colima horizons, each lot is assigned the general age of c.300BC-900AD. Each photo is noted with first the Inventory number of the item in brackets, then a brief description, followed by its size in inches, condition, and finally by its price. Select or ask any question by first referring to the Trocadero Number on this page, and then the inventory number shown on the given photograph. Any that have been sold will be so-marked on the appropriate photo. A purchase comes with a small display card, a biographical sketch about the collector Langdon, a map of Mexico highlighting the general area in which the ear spools were found, and a certificate guaranteeing authenticity.
