| Each of the twelve ancient Egyptian scarabs in this group of twelve (95.40HD, 95.42HD, 96.296HD, 96.336HD, 96.337HD, 96.345HD, 96.377HD, 96.439HD, 96.528HD, 96.607HD, 96.905HD and 96.922HD) is individually photographed and priced. All of those beginning with the numbers ‘96’ are from the well-known Philip Mitry collection, a former dealer who once owned a shop in Cairo. In the early ‘50s he sold his store, then known as the Anglo-American Bookstore and Antiquities Shop, and moved to the US. HD Enterprises purchased the 1100-piece Mitry collection in 1996 and have sold pieces to museums, jewelry designers, and collectors all over the world. Each photo is noted with first the Inventory Number of the item in brackets, followed by the scarab’s dimension and the type of material, and an estimated numerical grade in brackets. Next comes the age and Dynastic period, description of the scarab form and the base hieroglyphics, condition, and finally price. Select or ask any question by referring first to the Trocadero Item Number on this page, and then our Inventory Number shown on the given photograph. Any that have been sold will be so-marked on the appropriate photo. A purchase comes with a small display card, information about Mitry and his shop, and a certificate guaranteeing authenticity.
