GEOMETRICALLY DECORATED OLLA, NAYARIT
This 7 ½” tall, red and white painted olla (LLL710), decorated with geometric quadrant design, was found in West Mexico in the mid-20th century by the late Lynn Langdon. Attributed to the Nayarit horizon, c.300BC-200AD, the jar has a 1 1/8” wide hole in its lower half that appears to have been caused by a shovel but doesn’t seriously affect its structural integrity. Even with moderate paint loss on its upper half, and heavy loss on its base, the olla still displays well. The jar comes with a small display card, a biographical sketch about Langdon, a grapevine ring base to set the olla upon, a map of Mexico on which the Nayarit area has been highlighted, and our certificate guaranteeing authenticity. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box. That will quickly bring up all of our listings that have twelve different items on a page, each individually priced!
