LARGE OPEN CENSER WITH NUBBINS, COLIMA

Designed to stand on its bell-shaped, footed base, this impressive 10” tall, heavily root-marked ceramic censer (LLL485) is covered with stubby nubbins. Attributed to the Colima horizon dating c.300BC-200AD, it was found in west Mexico in the mid-20th century by the late Lynn Langdon. In overall very good condition with no restoration but one leg glued back in place and missing five of its small nubbins, this interesting and decorative ‘phytomorphic’ ceramic comes with a small display card, a brief biographical sketch about Langdon, a map of Mexico highlighting the Colima area, and our certiifcate guaranteeing authentictiy. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box. That will quickly bring up all of our listings that have twelve different items on a page, each individually priced!
