PRE-CLASSIC FIGURINE HOLDING HANDS TO CHEST
Measuring 6 ¼” in height, this solid, hand-modeled clay figurine (PES24) stands with hands modestly over breasts partly hiding her nakedness. Adorned with a large beaded necklace and ear ornaments, and wearing a tasseled and decorated lower garment, the figure is attributed to the Colima horizon of West Mexico dating c.300BC-300AD. Showing well inspite of being glued together at waist and neck, having an abraded nose, and missing part of her cap rim, the figure requires some support to stand alone. From the Brian Safe collection, the little lady comes with a small display card, a biographical sketch about the former owner, a map of Mexico highlighting the Colima area, and our certificate guaranteeing authenticity. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box. That will quickly bring up all of our listings that have twelve different items on a page, each individually priced!
