137 Framed Pre-columbian Points, Dr. Heflin
$1950.00

Here’s another interesting arrowhead frame (AXH61) from the internationally recognized Dr. Allen Heflin collection! Made up of 137 obsidian projectile points, all found in the state of Jalisco in West Mexico, the points are mostly in very good condition with no restoration, but some do have the typical marks of usage (tip dings, small chips, roughness, etc.). Arranged in a well-balanced display in a glass-fronted 12 1/2" x 16 1/2" frame with foam backing, the back of the frame has Heflin’s hand-drawn diagram noting where the various points were found (Lake Sayula, North Sayula, and Jalisco). The points in the frame represent an authentic sampling of different types found in the defined area generally dating from the Late Pre-Classic (c.300BC) up to the Post-Classic Period (c.1200-1500AD). A standard ruler has been placed along the left edge of the first photo to assist in determining approximate size (all of these would be called ‘bird points’). In order to see the various points more clearly, a photo of each quadrant of the frame appears separately, and is so marked. Present in each quad photo is the center group of 8 points arranged in a tight circle. Also shown are a few photos of the diagram on the back of the frame. The frame comes with a copy of the memoriam to Heflin published in the Missouri Archaeologcal Society Quarterly in the late ‘90s, a map of Mexico on which the area represented in the frame has been highlighted, and a certificate guaranteeing authenticity. For shipment, the frame will be bubble-packed and placed in a foam peanut packed box. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box. That will quickly bring up all of our listings that have twelve different items on a page, each individually priced! And if you want to further refine the group, add one or two additional modifiers at the same time such as ‘Indian, Precolumbian, Stone, Pot, Gold, etc.’
