| The small stone beads or pendants in this group of twelve (LLL 1205A, D, G, J, L, P, S, W, Y, AA, AH and AO), dating c.300BC-600AD and assigned to the Colima horizon, were all collected by the late Lynn Langdon in West Mexico during the mid-20th century. In Pre-Columbian days, the little figures were strung in necklaces and worn as protective amulets. The pieces in this lot represent predominantly anthropomorphic or human forms but also include a bird, a frog and a jaguar head. Each could be easily adapted for wear today and if you believe, the ancient gods might once again be called upon to offer the wearer a magical cloak of protection. Each photo lists the pictured item’s inventory number, a numerical grade between 1-10, its measurement in millimeters, and a price. A figure comes with a small display card, a biographical sketch about Langdon, a map of Mexico with the Colima area hi-lighted, and our certificate guaranteeing authenticity. Select or ask any question by referring first to the Trocadero Item Number on this page, and then to the LLL Inventory Number shown on the given photograph. Any that have been sold will be so-marked. If you’d like to see all of the currently listed items from the Langdon collection, simply type LLL into any of the search links in our catalog, and a comprehensive listing will appear. And if you’d like to see all of the various other items listed in our popular group of twelve format (a great way to save on browsing time), enter the single word TWELVE into the search link. If interested only in a particular type, add a descriptive word to your search such as jewelry, pot, textile, gold, coin, etc. | |||||||||||||||
