| According to the previous owner, this 2 5/8” tall anthropomorphic axe god pendant (101.32HD) was characterized as displaying Olmecoid influence by the late nationally known Robert Stroessner, ex museum curator of the New World Department at the Denver Art Museum. In excellent condition, the marvelous greenstone piece tests out within the refractive index range of jadeite. Dating c.300BC-500AD, from Costa Rica, this pendant appears to have been string-sawn from an older and larger celt. Adapted for contemporary wear with a custom made 14K gold holder and bale, it can be removed from the frame without too much effort. This highly polished jadeite artifact comes with a small display card and a certificate guaranteeing authenticity from HD Enterprises. | ||||||
