This 5" long cuneiform foundation cone from the MAB collection (MAB.151) was once hidden in an ancient Sumerian temple wall leaving for history a story of the ruler in power at that time, along with information about the god to whom the temple was dedicated. This translucent green glass amulet (102.6HD) was found in Lebanon and dates into the Roman Period, c.100BC-100AD. 7/8” in length, the amulet is embossed in the center of its disk with what appears to be either the torso of a person or god (although it’s impossible to be sure). In overall very good condition, the glass is filled with bubbles, and a bit of mud still clings to its surface. The amulet or pendant comes with a small display card and a certificate guaranteeing authenticity.
