ANGLO-SAXON, Secondary Sceat. Circa 600-720. AR Sceat 'Animal Mask ' Group.- Extremely Rare. Obv: Facing Animal Mask in double pelleted border ( possibly a wolf ) Rev: Bird right in pelleted border,cross before. An extremely rare sceat seldom seen for sale. Spink lists it at $1900 in VF condition. This coin is well centred and a good strike in almost EF condition. The picture does not show the true beauty of this coin. The coin is a 2004 detector find from Yorkshire and is a once in a lifetime buy.
