An exquisite little glass vanity jar with a sterling silver lid covered in shagreen, or sharkskin (also called galuchat). The lid was goldwashed or gilded and is hallmarked, as shown in the photos, to 1905 London, maker unknown. Condition of the glass is good with some surface scratches and small chips, mainly along the bottom rim. Most of the gilding has worn alway from the silver, which we didn't attempt to polish or clean. The size of this little gem is a bit over 3" in diameter ...click for details

Here is a very handsome pair of horse figures meant to be bookends, I believe. They have good weight and 8.5 inches tall and 9 inches long. They are made of a metal with bronze finish and date to the early to mid 1900's. Condition is good with the expected surface scratches and one horse is missing one ear. They would make a fabulous pair of lamps! Original price was $375.

We have a horse hoof that once belonged to "Sambo" that has been made into a match holder. All the hardware on this polished hoof appears to be solid copper. even the horse shoe, which is marked WH&S. Very nicely done and so detailed! It has a match striker on the back. Condition is excellent with just some residue from polishing the copper. It was common in Victorian England to memorialize favorite horses by doing such things with their hooves, something we find odd and even ...click for details

This is a very sweet pug figurine from the Victorian era, late 1800's. He is made of bisque and has painted details, such as the dark mask and blue collar with gilt bells. He is very well proportioned and in excellent condition for his age. Most of the gilt finish has worn off the bells on his collar, which is to be expected at his age. He is unmarked, but we suspect he is Continental in origin. He is around 5.5 inches tall.
