| We have a horse hoof that once belonged to "Sambo" that has been made into a match holder. All the hardware on this polished hoof appears to be solid copper. even the horse shoe, which is marked WH&S. Very nicely done and so detailed! It has a match striker on the back. Condition is excellent with just some residue from polishing the copper. It was common in Victorian England to memorialize favorite horses by doing such things with their hooves, something we find odd and even macabre today. These equine relics are highly collectible and remind us of how important and admired horses were in the history of Britain. Original price was $295. | ||
