| We don't have many prints in the shop, preferring instead original paintings and drawings. Sometimes, however, we offer an original engraving or a really special print and this is one of those pieces. Entitled "A Southerly Wind & A Cloudy Sky", this original, hand colored, 1835 engraving is after a painting by the famous sporting artist Francis Calcraft Turner (1782-1846). It is a nicely rendered hunt scene accompanied by a romantic prose lamenting hunting in poor weather. There is quite a bit of age toning and some water stains, which could be removed, although we left them for the buyer to worry about (such things don't bother us!). This wonderful old piece comes in its original heavy walnut frame. A great old original hunt print that can hold its own among major pieces of sporting art.
