| A rare and interesting Victorian era English page turner made of wood. This piece was an advertisement 'give away' item for the Eastern Telegraph Company, Ltd. of London. It features a map on both sides of the blade, and an 1899 calendar, with 6 months displayed on each side of the handle. So unusual! This was probably a premium gift item given to the company's customers. It measures 13.25 inches long and condition is very good considering the age and composition. The edge is quite rough and has numerous chips and dings. The patina is warm and beautiful and has darkened with age. A great conversation or map collector's piece! | ||
