Very nice phurba, the top part shows an open shrine with 3 precisely carved ancestor faces. note also 3 nicely carved Makara The middle part was protected against bad and painful energy with cloth This phurba represent a very good carving and stylistic work, height 8 inches (20 cm), the phurba is presented on an iron stand.

An important Nuo Mask figuring likely a Judge, old polychromia yellow, white red and black, long horse tail hairs to figure barb . Note that the eyes and the lower jaw are moving, that mechanism being still in almost perfect condition. Obvious signs of great age between 100 and 150 y, still very good condition. the mask is presented on an iron stand . Height 10 3/4 inches (27cm)

A rough but extremely old Himalayan mask, just the eyes are wide open and underlined by a thin carved line, the mouth just shows carved teeth, the noose is flat . Part of the face of the mask has been eaten by insects. The bottom of the mask shows either a goiter or an handle, however this mask was bearing holes on the sides and one this hole is now worn out. A very great Ghurra showing a wonderful house on his top , the whole piece is nicely and realistically carved with a special attention to the double knot of rope and to the house. Note also the thick encrusted black patina and the great sign use especially seen in the rotating hole, indicating a very great age likely very close and possibly over 100 years. Another portray of Tsai Chen probably Ti-fang Ts’ai Shen siting on a turtle with a human head below an altar. Note that the hide is the back has been open and that door is missing. Obvious signs of great age around 150 years hard wood, Height 11 inches (27.5 cm).

An attractive representation of Tudigon, the famous well known earth deity important. The face shows an important encrusted black with important chips, the barb was figured with black and white hairs. The inside shows a very nice black patina indicating a long use. Very interesting and fine Nuo performance old mask probably from the Tujia people of Guizhou. Although primarily animistic in nature, Nuo rituals, have incorporated Taoist and Buddhist deities into their ceremonies.
