This is a large size long stick model Ghurra, with old encrusted dusty patina. The design is simple and minimal figuring 4 strands of rope roughly evoked with a knot in the middle. Obvious signs of age probably over 50 years. Height 13 7/8 inches (35 cm). The piece is presented on an iron stand.

A small phurba with nicely carved top. Note that the round precisely carved faces show different expression, the central part is wrapped with threads to ensure protection of the shaman during his fight with bad spirits.Height 8 1/3 inches (21 inches). The piece is nicely mounted on an iron stand.

A Phurba, also called shamanic knife, is a ritual dagger used to drive away evil spirits or negative influences. This is a classical example from Tamang people built on the classical three-side symetrical model. The top part is made of three human heads. The central part is the grip and represent the tibetan design of a dorje also called vajra. This is a very old lute called Sgra-snyan, it is made in a single piece of hard red wood with very elegant lines of carving; the upper part is carved in a circular shape ending as stylized horse head with a beautiful encrusted back patina. The sun is also carved on top of the horse head and on each side indicating strong animist influences.
