This a classical mask of the Cham Tibetan theater. The mouth is wide open showing the tongue and frightening teeth. The eyebrows and the eyes are protruding, three skulls on top of the mask give it even more strength. Very precise wood carving, with regular thickness, which is the signature of a great artist. Usually after being carved such mask was coated with a thick pigment and then painted. The original color was white but is now quite faded, turning yellowish, a sign of great age.
