I am currently not on the road, but here is a summary of my latest business adventures:
My latest business trip to Singapore and Thailand for two weeks in February was wonderful as always. It included special meetings in Singapore with PhD’s, at the Asian Civilizations Museum, and with Asian Art and Antiques dealers. I went to Bangkok for a special private tour of important pieces at the Jim Thompson house, a place many travelers to Thailand will recognize. As it was only my first trip to Thailand, I was really curious to find out if the stories about the Thai were true, and they were! The Thai people are gracious, wonderful, polite and kind, as I have always been told. My pervious trip over the summer of 2007 for 6 weeks included, raising money for the poorest of the poor kid’s schools in Mongolia and a three week cross-country tour of important sites of Ghengis Khaan with Dr. Kh. Lkhagvasuren Ph.D. who is the number one living scholar in the world on the Archeological and Historical life of Ghengis Khaan. I was also honored with acceptance to do my PhD in Archeology with my thesis based on The Relationships Between Mongolian and Native American Symbolism under the watchful eyes of Professor Lkhagvasuren. While in Mongolia I also had private meetings with Mongolian Customs Department Officials in order to learn their rules, private tours with the Curator of the Zanabazar Museum of Fine Arts and a private tour of the Museum of Natural History. But the most special two private tours were with: 1) the Head Lama of Erdene Zuu Khid (Monetary, the first to be built in Mongolia) and, 2) Khara Khorum (Karakorum - the first permanent capital of Mongolia) with Dr. Lkhagvasuren who had worked on the Khara Khorum site since he was only 12 years old! That was all among other special visits to art galleries, private antique collections and antique galleries in Mongolia and China. Yes, I also spent 2 weeks in China for business reasons as well on that trip.
