| We have a number of these cute Chinese, kitchen, lidded, rice boxes for sale. We have two quality categories of these once again: 1) Best quality (as in this listing) sells for @255.00 each, 2) Poor quality (in another listing on our site) sells for $150.00 each. Each measures on average, approximately 8 3/4 inches [22.3 cm] (diam.) x 9 inches [22.8 cm](h). They vary in condition due to natural wear over time. Many have their original spun wire binding bands, some have replacements. These vary from completely original condition to having new clear lacquered coats applied. Most are plain colors of lacquer including, but not limited to: clear lacquer over silver producing a luminescent orange color, red, black and brown. A few do have a painted design on them. Most have some contraction due to drying over the last 50 - 150 years, and so may have slightly loose panels. However, these are too old for modern use in general anyway. Often the little foo dog handle on the top was broken off some time in the boxes past and so is frequently replaced with a new handle. These date generally to between 1850 and 1960, with an average of the ones I have available dating to the 1880 - 1940 range, circa: 1920. I love these pieces and have several of my own.
