It has the tapered hair atop the head - the long earlobes and the design on the forehead typical of Thai iconology. It measures 2 ½” high by 1 3/8” wide by 1 5/8” deep – not including the round stand. (The stand is not original to the piece but makes a nice display.) We date it to the mid to late 19th century. The top near the rim has a ring of swirling blue lines. The piece measures 2” high by 2 ¼” diameter at the waist. The jarlet has a slightly yellow cast to it and it has a crackle finish. The head measures 4” high by 2 ½” wide by 2” deep. It has nice patina – there appears to be some traces of gilding at some point in time. On the inside we can see some green Verdi gris.
