ICHIBAN STARTING TO CLOSE DOWN. We are starting to close down our business, a process that will take us a couple of years - age and health issues tell us it is time. We still have over 1,100 items either currently listed on our website catalog or still to be posted onto it. So, from now on ALL ITEMS IN THE CATALOG MAY BE PURCHASED AT 40 % OFF THE LISTED PRICE. At these low prices, we do ask that you pay shipping and insurance charges for all items purchased. We reserve the right to require a 15 % re-stocking fee in cases where the reason for the return is suspect. With thanks for your years of patronage, we look forward to serving you until the last items are sold.

$250.00

A nice 20th century set of four lacquer mukozuke dishes. They are done in red lacquer with raised black designs - each dish has a different design. The only designs that we can recognize are the ones with irises and the one with what appears to be holly tree with berries. There is an old Canadian customs stamp on the base of one of the cups. It would appear to have been applied in May of 2005. We date the four dishes from the early Showa period, circa 1930-1960. They are in excellent condition. ...click for details

$295.00

A nice Japanese red lacquer hot water pot - decorated in a bright red China red ground lacquer with a gold makie design of a pine tree encircling the bottle and the lid. Measures 4" high by 3 1/2" diameter.Generally good condition with one small area where the gold makie tree trunk meets the top at the rim. There is a gold mark on the base - not translated. We conservatively date this piece to the Taisho-early Showa period 1915-1930; however, it could be much earlier.
