The outer sides of the bowl have two reserves showing a running Qilin with some sort of branch in its mouth – these are separated by blue and white geometric designs. A single character on the inside of the cup. The cup measures 2 ¾” high and is 3 3/8” diameter at the top. The base is unglazed. Along with a Cizhou small dish with a stylized iron brown overglaze flower and leaves on the tan ground.- the foot unglazed. The dish measures 5 ½” diameter by 1 1/8” high. The crackled glaze is a light grey/blue in color. There are five low relief floret designs on the shoulder of the piece that add vibrancy to the design. The jar measures 3 1/2" high and is 3 3/4" diameter at the widest. It is in excellent condition. To be conservative we are dating the piece to the late 19th to very early 20th century; however, it could be much earlier.
