A very nice small Peking Glass brush washer in an invert rim style. The Bowl measures 3 3/8” diameter at its widest by 2 ¼” high and is in excellent condition. The Cameo Cased glass design is executed in a dark blue overlay glass over a dark pink under layer as its base. The design features two scholars under a pine tree with a column of smoke between them – another side has large palm fronds – as we turn the bowl further it shows a large hut. It has a thick wide foot rim and the whole piece is ...click for details
This is a late Qing example of Peking Glass – circa 1880-1910. It is a footed bowl with a flared bowl done in a lovely transparent emerald green color. There are some bubbles in the glass and the makeup of the foot lead us to believe it to be from the late 19th to early 20th century. The bowl measures 5 3/8” diameter at the top – is 2 3/8” high – and is 1 ½” diameter at the base. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
A lovely Chinese Peking Glass bowl in a lavender pink color. It has an all over carved design of many flowers – some we can identify as lotus blossoms from the leaves and seeds – other we are not sure of as to the type of flower. Even the base is formed with an intricate design of intertwined flower stems. The edge of the bowl is fluted and notched. We believe that the bowl was hand carved as there are indications of tooling at the edges of the floral and leaf designs. The bowl measures 9” diame ...click for details
This is a nice heavy little Peking Glass bud vase in a pure white color. The weight of the piece and the thickness of the glass has us convinced that it is no later than the early 20th century and possibly as early as 1825-1850. The vase measures 3” high and is 1 ¾” diameter at the shoulder. It is in excellent condition.
An elegant and simple small Peking footed glass bowl with flared ridge rim. The bowl measures 2 1/2" high and is 4 1/8" diameter at the top. The color is hard to describe - it is a rose-lavender-pink color that is quite soft and handsome. Because of the thickness of the glass and the base, we believe the bowl dates from the late 19th to very early 20th century. Excellent condition.
An elegant 18th/19th century Peking Glass vase in a modified double gourd form. The exterior layer is of a golden yellow color - the layer beneath is a pure white - and the final interior layer of glass is a delicate pink shade. All three layers appear to extend all the way to the bottom as you can see pink highlights at the seam of the foot when you hold the vase up to light. The vase measures 8 1/4" high and is 1 1/4" diameter at the top - 4" diameter at the widest - and the bas ...click for details
A very fine cobalt blue Peking Glass vase - a strong solid base is encircled with a thick band 3/4" wide – then the vase tapers to a narrower top opening. The base measures 3" in diameter and the top opening is just a hair over 2 3/8" in diameter. This is very thick glass and heavy glass with the thickness measuring 1/2" thick at the top rim. A very rare early Peking Glass vase with three layers of multi colored glass and facets. The underlying base color is a dark, almost cobalt blue glass. The next layer in a lighter blue glass. Then the top layer is a pale sky blue color into which streaks of yellow glass have been swirled into streaky striations. The maker then cut facetted patterns into the shoulder and in another group just below the shoulder of the vase. The overall effect is quite stunning - absolutely the only example of its ...click for details
A very simple and lovely Peking glass small vase made to simulate a pale celadon nephrite jade. As Peking glass makers experimented with their craft, they delighted in coming up with formulae that could simulate various minerals such as jade, hardstones, agates, etc. This is a classic simulation of nephrite jade with slight streakiness in the interior to replicate the natural striations in jade. There is a very thin layer of whitish glass lining the interior of the neck. From the look and feel o ...click for details
