This is a simple country Chinese bowl from the late Ming to early Qing Dynasties, circa 1600-1750. It has a light brown celadon glaze with a crackle finish. The glaze ends short of the base - the foot and the base are unglazed. It is in fine condition - some firing flaws such as the pebble caught in the glaze - and has three firing spurs in cavetto. There are no chips or hairlines. The bowl measures 6" diameter at the top - is 2 1/2" deep - and the base diameter is 2 1/4". |
