| In the 1960's and 1970's, the late sosaku hanga master Haku Maki did a series of prints with fruit as his subject - persimmons were the most used but he also produced several versions of grapes. This fine small print is of purple grapes on a bright matte silver ground and is titled "Work 75-25". The print measures 9 3/8" x 9 3/8" and is numbered 114/204. It was printed in 1975. Very fine condition - mounted in a folder with a glassine window - very light roughage to the margin. I am very happy to advise all of you fans of Haku Maki that a very good friend and colleague of ours, Dr. Daniel Tretiak, has now published the definitive book on Maki’s works and life. Dan is one of the foremost collectors and authorities on Maki in the world. The book can be found in Amazon books with this title-The Life and Works of Haku Maki (Paperback) - by Dr. Daniel Tretiak (Author)”. This long awaited book is a must for every collector of Maki prints. | |||||||||
